Maman at Shadowood Square: A New Option Near Saturnia

Coral Ridge Drive runs two directions from Saturnia's guard gate, with Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park to the north and east and retail options to the south and west.

North and east of the gate sits Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, and the HOA's own materials describe Saturnia as within walking distance of it. That single fact has quietly done a lot of work for the neighborhood. The park runs from Yamato Road down to Glades Road and covers close to 900 acres, which is enough room for a public golf course at Osprey Point, a lighted tennis center, the Coconut Cove Waterpark, the Canine Cove dog park, Daggerwing Nature Center's boardwalk through the woods, and the open-air Sunset Cove Amphitheater. None of that is new this year. It has been the standing answer to "what's there to do without getting in the car" since long before 2026, and it still is.

South and west of the gate, toward the stretch of Glades Road near 441, Westwinds of Boca, the shopping center anchored by a Publix at 9846 Glades Road, along with a Home Depot, a DSW, a Petco, and an ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, covers the errands. It is a genuinely useful plaza.

That is the half of the story that changed in 2026.

The New Name on Glades Road

According to Browardist, Maman, the French café brand that opened its first location in New York's SoHo neighborhood in 2014 and has since grown to more than 50 storefronts across North America, is opening a West Boca location at Shadowood Square, 9959 Glades Road, part of a three-café rollout across Palm Beach County scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The other two locations are landing at The Shops at Boca Center in central Boca and on South Swinton Avenue in downtown Delray Beach.

The rollout brings a distinctive café concept to the Shadowood Square address. Founders Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte have built the brand around imported French vintage furniture, provincial detailing, and floral installations, and the Boca Raton menu is expected to include items from the brand's ongoing collaboration with Martha Stewart, the same rotating lineup that has included pieces like the Milk Chocolate Crème Brûlée Sugar Bun elsewhere in the chain.

Shadowood Square sits within a couple of minutes of the Publix at Westwinds, on the same stretch of Glades Road. For a household coming out of Saturnia's gate, this is not a destination that requires crossing 441 or making the drive toward Mizner Park. It is the same errand-run radius that already included the grocery store and the hardware store, just with something in it now that a resident might choose to sit down at.

What the Park Side Already Had

None of this replaces what the park side of the gate offers, and it is worth being specific about what that side has actually included for years, because the contrast is the whole point.

  • A full public golf course at Osprey Point, open to residents without a country club membership
  • Coconut Cove Waterpark, with a lazy river and family-scale water attractions
  • Canine Cove, a fenced dog park separated by size
  • Daggerwing Nature Center, with a boardwalk trail through native woods
  • Sunset Cove Amphitheater, the park's outdoor concert and event venue

That list has carried the "you don't have to leave the neighborhood" argument for Saturnia on its own for years. A resort-style clubhouse pool inside the gate, paired with a public golf course, a waterpark, and an amphitheater within walking distance outside it, is a genuinely unusual combination for a single-family community in this part of the county. It never needed a news cycle because it was already built out.

Those amenities remain one half of Saturnia’s nearby picture, with Glades Road’s retail options forming the other.

Reading the Two Sides Together

The interesting part isn't that a café is opening. Cafés open constantly across West Boca. The interesting part is what it does to the balance of Saturnia's five-minute radius specifically.

Saturnia’s nearby options include the park’s recreational amenities and Glades Road’s shops and services. The planned Maman café at Shadowood Square adds another café option near the Publix and other stores on the same stretch of road.

One café does not remake a shopping center, but it gives Saturnia residents another nearby option for an evening out.

If you are weighing what a five-minute radius like this is actually worth when you look at your own address, AJ Bergman tracks these changes street by street across West Boca, not just at the zip code level. A conversation about what Saturnia's evolving radius means for your home is one message away.
